Went for a walk with mom after we got back from Beijing.  The river is just acrosss the street and it is a nice place to see all sorts of cultural activities. On a good day you’ll see just about anything you can think of. Fan Dancers, singers, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and more. We […]

Today I started off with a little walk and then we had a hearty breakfast. We sat around a bit, then went to the Temple of Heaven. Again, I’ve already been there so can’t say we went around taking great tourist photos. I was more into the family snaps.   On the way back from […]

Day two was another pretty slow day. We didn’t do a whole lot for most of the day. Susan and I took a walk to the park  then we headed to the forbidden city. Unfortunately, by the time we got there, the place was nearly closed. So we pretty much ran through and then left.  […]

This is the first trip with a baby and things didn’t go to badly. Our baby hardly cried so that was a real plus. I intended to take a lot more photos but didn’t really get the chance. Oh well. The plane ride was uneventful and we took a taxi to our hotel. Susan and […]

Got back from Beijing a few days ago and started to sort through the 1,800 photos that were taken by all us. I took about 1,300 just by myself on this three night trip.  If you ever find yourself in this situation, where you have hundreds of  photos taken by multiple cameras to sort through I’ve got […]

I was walking along one night when I spotted this hole in the wall. Walls in China are fairly flimsy and workers are always knocking holes in them. In this case, they had a hole just be enough to slip a wheel barrow and a man through. I wanted my photo there, but didn’t have […]

For these photos, I used a mixture of ambient and flash to make them. The camera (a Nikon D300 with a 10.5mm fishey) was clamped to the bicycle with a lengthy shutter speed. The flash was set to go off at the end of the shot. So the lights in the background are streaks while […]

Guangzhou spends a lot on making their city beautiful, and they have flowers everywhere.  Here’s a photo from a pedestrian overpass, shot through the flowers.

It is common in Guangzhou to see blind musicians who play for money on the street.

I really like welders with the showers of sparks they produce. I always stop to take their picture when I can. Here is another welder.     Nikon D700 with 24-70/f2.8 1/800th f5.0 @ISO400

Just updated the theme I was using, and it would appear that the top photos have all been changed. None of them are mine. So bear with me for a while until I can fix this.

Not a huge pet person but I’ve spotted a couple of dogs over the last month or so that I thought I’d share.

Probably many though the blog was dead. However, I’ve been busy, and my internet connection has been somewhat spotty. I am not really sure why. Here is a nice photo.
