BW Project: The Smoker

Smoking permitted

Another photo from the BW project, where I’ve been shooting black and white film. This shot was taken with Lucky 100, a cheap Chinese brand that seems to have mixed reviews. It certainly has a look compared to the other films I’ve been shooting lately. I tend to prefer a more contrasty film. I’m mainly using Ilford Pan 400 right now but I’ll go back to the Lucky 100 in the future and try to bring up the contrast. We’ll see.

On the actual photo: This is a fairly common site in China. People light up and smoke under and in front of these signs all the time. Nobody cares. And the government is going to outlaw smoking in public places in a couple of months. Place your bets as to how that works out.

All the information I have about the technical details: Lucky 100 shot with Nikon F4 and Nikon 35mm f2D. Developed in Kodak D-76 Diluted 1:1 @20C for 7 minutes, Agitation every 30 seconds for 10 seconds

I am just curious what will be next. Usually people think only about themselves but this could really change because we have such people who partake their knowledge and information – thank you!
