Day 13

After departing Homestead, we drove to Key West which was a nice little drive. It was two lane much of the way, with no where to pass. I’d probably be frustrated, but on this trip I stick to the speed limit to avoid a costly ticket which would equal that of 2 or 3 days on the road! I was content behind anyone else going the speedlimit, and tried to do my best to let others pass me. Some people really wanted to get somewhere in a hurry.

This guy was pretty strong and did some back flipps as well as jumping through hoops.

We arrived in Key West, set up our campsite at Leo’s camp ground, and then headed into Key West to see things. We walked around a good bit, and ended up at Mallory Square where we saw the street performers. They were a lot of talk for not a lot of action, but did have some cool shows. One of the most unique was a 63 year old sword swallower! He talked for more than 10 minutes about what he was going to do, how he was the oldest, etc, blah, blah blah, and then for less than 10 seconds, he swallowed the sword! It was cool, but it was an extreme example of more talk, less action.
